The team of Guru Nanak Modern School, Kalyanpur which comprises of Classes 6-8 participated in 16th Inter School Taekwondo Championship organized by Sir Padampat Singhania Centre, Kanpur which was held on October 8, 2022 and October 9, 2022.
The event was an excellent opportunity for the students to exhibit their exemplary taekwondo skills and comprehensive training they had undergone under the guidance of the school coach, Ms. Jyoti Srivastava. Many schools participated in that tournament. A set of experienced referees were present to officiate the matches.
After a tough series of fighting bouts, Aryan Shukla won Gold medal in sub-junior U-41 kg, Manvi Tiwari won Gold medal in Cadet U-33 kg, Aayush Dwivedi won Bronze medal in Cadet U-53 kg, Devyansh Kumar Singh won Bronze medal in Cadet U-45 kg and Kartik Mishra won Bronze medal in Cadet U-57 kg.
The team held their respective medals with great pride and expressed their continued commitment for the sport. The Principal, Mr. Balwinder Singh applauded the students for their commendable effort and wished them good luck for their future endeavours.
